Αρνείται κάθε σχέση με το "Ίδρυμα Καντάφι" ο Γ.Παπανδρέου


«Δεν συμμετείχα ποτέ στο ίδρυμα Καντάφι», τόνισε με κατηγορηματικό τρόπο στη Βουλή ο πρωθυπουργός, Γ. Παπανδρέου, απαντώντας στις αιτιάσεις της αντιπολίτευσης.

Ο κ. Παπανδρέου διευκρίνισε πως ουδέποτε έδωσε την συγκατάθεσή του κι επιπλέον ανέφερε ότι είχαν βάλει το όνομά του στο site του Ιδρύματος δίχως ο ίδιος να συγκατανεύσει.

Απευθυνόμενος δε προς την αντιπολίτευση είπε: «Θεωρείτε το site του Καντάφι περισσότερο αξιόπιστο από τα όσα εγώ διαβεβαιώνω;».

Ως χορηγός και επίτιμο μέλος του ιδρύματος του Καντάφι «GADDAFI INTERNATIONAL CHARITY AND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION» (GICDF, «Διεθνής Οργανισμός Φιλανθρωπίας και Ανάπτυξης Kαντάφι»), εμφανίζεται στην σχετική ιστοσελίδα του ιδρύματος ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου, αλλά και ο πρώην πρωθυπουργός της Ιταλίας, Τζούλιο Αντρεότι.

Τα ονόματα των δύο πολιτικών, φιγουράρουν σε ανακοίνωση του Ιδρύματος, το οποίο εδρεύει στην Ελβετία, έχει ως αντικείμενο ανθρωπιστικές δραστηριότητες στον μουσουλμανικό κόσμο και έχει ως πρόεδρο τον γιό του Καντάφι, Σαίφ αλ Ισλάμ Καντάφι.

Υπενθυμίζεται ότι ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου είχε επισκεφθεί το περασμένο καλοκαίρι τον Kαντάφι, προσπαθώντας να προσελκύσει λιβυκά κεφάλαια στην Ελλάδα σε τομείς όπως η ενέργεια, οι ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας, επενδύσεις στον κατασκευαστικό τομέα, αγορά ακινήτων αλλά και για την ανάπτυξη τερματικού σταθμού υγροποιημένου αερίου.

Ο Τζούλιο Αντρεότι χρημάτισε τρεις φορές πρωθυπουργός της Ιταλίας, κατηγορήθηκε για σχέσεις με τη Μαφία, καταδικάστηκε σε φυλάκιση, όμως αργότερα απαλλάχτηκε λόγω παραγραφής του αδικήματος.

Στις 14 Δεκεμβρίου 2010 το ΔΣ της ΜΚΟ συζήτησε για τα οικονομικά της, απόντος όμως του πρωθυπουργού της Ελλάδας, ο οποίος λόγω ανειλημμένων υποχρεώσεων δεν μπόρεσε, όπως αναφέρει ανακοίνωση του ιδρύματος, να παραβρεθεί.

Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation (GICDF) is an international non-governmental organization, carries out developmental and humanitarian activities in the social , economic, cultural and human rights fields.

What is Gaddafi Foundation?


GICDF was established in 2003 through the signing of its article of association in Geneva, Switzerland. Its chairman is Saif Al Islam Al Gaddafi, then comes the Executive Director who is selected by an executive committee. His functions are to manage the Foundation and its affiliate societies and offices.
Gaddafi Foundation adopts principles that define and guide its functions such as maintaining and protecting human rights, and fundamental liberties, developing civil society and its organizations, promoting charitable voluntary work, establishing cooperation relations among societies to consolidate the team work supporting the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the vulnerable segments in the community, such as the poor, the needy, orphans, and the handicapped. It also provides humanitarian aid for war and disaster victims wherever they are.
Gaddafi Foundation has specializing offices that work regularly and in coordination with other parties, and agencies, in order to support and enhance the activities aiming at realizing the pursued aims. These offices include research and development office, human work office, media office, fundraising office, technical affairs and projects office, foreign relations office, and societies and civil society office.
A number of non-governmental societies are working under the banner of the Foundation and supervision in different fields, to practice their humanitarian and development activities, to render service for mankind and to bring about progress, prosperity and to maintain his rights.
A number of civil societies and non-governmental organizations work under the supervision of GICDF in several fields. The Foundation provides support for them in order to exercise their developmental and humanitarian activities.

Gaddafi Foundation NGOs:

The Libyan National society for Anti-Drugs and Mental Stimulants

It is a charitable non-governmental society working to provide services and focus on the drug takers and addicts’ problems by devising and providing rehabilitation, health, psychological and social programs. It also provides facilities, loans and assistance for the addicts.
The objectives of the association that was established in 1994 lie in raising awareness, introducing the risks of drugs, mental stimulants and addiction. It helps in accommodating them in specialized clinics. It also provides assistance for those healed (rehabilitee) to enable them to reintegrate into society and so as the Associations conducts scientific studies and researches about the causes and the ways of treatment of the drug phenomena.

Human Rights Society

The Human Rights society was established in 1999 to work to achieve respect for human rights, basic liberties and defending them and establishing the principles of human rights in conformity with the national laws and international covenants and treaties.

Society for the Vulnerable on the Earth

Society for the Vulnerable is a charitable non-governmental organization (NGO); it is a corporate body financially independent. It was founded in 2001 and its head office is based in the city of Benghazi in accordance with the laws in effect in Libya.
The goals of the society lie in defending the human rights of individuals and groups who are exposed to oppression because of their political positions advocating just causes, justice and resisting colonization providing that they have not used violence as a means to realize their goals and prosecuting war and racial discrimination criminals, and taking legal action against them. It also aims at propagating awareness about the rights, liberties and instigating their practices. It seeks to cooperate with humanitarian charitable associations domestically and abroad, and to support the prisoners of wars (POW's) and demand their release.

De-mining Society

The Society for de-mining was established in 2004. It is a non-governmental organization. It has been attending to the removal of the mines and taking care of those who had been hurt by those mines (i.e. the mutilated and the maimed etc…). It is contributing directly to the awareness programs and education of the inhabitants about the damaged areas and how to deal with, and avoid the mines implanted in those areas.

The Brothers of the South Society

The brothers of the South was established to support and strengthen cooperation relations with the institutions and the African countries in the fields of relief, development, healthy, culture and education. The brothers since its foundation has made a set of development and humanitarian activities in African countries for example building Saif Al Islam Secondary School in the city of Faya in Chad. It had laid the corner stones of building the orphanage in N\'djamena and offering humanitarian assistance for the migrants and the displaced of Darfur in Chad in 2005.
